Nagaland will be participating in the 72nd Senior National North East Basketball Championship organised by Mizoram Basketball Association under the aegis of Basketball Federation of India. All the seven north-eastern states are participating in the tournament.
The 72nd Senior National Basketball Championship 2022 (First Phase-NE Zonal) is scheduled to take place between 13 to 16 September in Aizawl, Mizoram. The Championship will feature both Men’s and Women’s competitions.
Earlier, the Nagaland Basketball Association had released the names of the players for the championship, the selection of which was done during the recent Nagaland Olympics & Paralympic Games 2022.
Twelve players have been selected each in Men’s and Women’s category.
The players include:
Women’s team: Rüütuonuo Janice, Belekhonuo Kuotsu, Reena Rai, Ruokuosanuo Sachii, Kunulu Hesuh, Lanunechetla, Imtila Aochenlar, Sungtiyala C Imchen, Myingthungla Tsopoe, Merila Tsope, Ravolü Nyekha, Kenyuni Keppen.
Men’s team: Keneitsizo Belho, Seyievizo Kire, Kevipfhelie Kevin Rutsa, Chumbemo Kikon, Keneizelhou Kevin Tale, Kelhoukhrielie Dzüvichü, Chumbenthung Humtsoe, Keneingutuo Kevin, Ruopfühetuo Solo, Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü, Imchanungba Walling and Relise K Thonger.
Vice-President of Nagaland Basketball Association, Medozhatuo Rutsa, is accompanying the 24-strong player contingent with Thejanguzo Titus Pienyu as the team manager.
