Nagaland Budget 2024-2025: LADP fund enhanced to Rs. 200 lakhs per constituency

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio announced on Tuesday during the fourth session of the 14th NLA that the Local Area Development Program (LADP) allocation has been enhanced to Rs. 200 lakhs per constituency from 2024-25 onwards.  This, according to Rio, will ensure that development reaches every single constituency of the State. An amount of Rs. 25,166.73 lakhs has been allocated as 50 percent of the State Matching Share to CSS during 2024-25.

Further, to facilitate acquisition of land for Government projects and for the development of the new city Naga Ki at Chathe valley, an amount of Rs. 15,000 lakhs has been earmarked. An amount of Rs. 1,200 lakhs has been earmarked for Special Development Scheme, Rs. 1,000 lakhs for CMCF,  Rs. 100 lakhs for Monitoring Cell, Rs. 150 lakhs for GIS and Remote Sensing, Rs. 250 lakhs for implementation of SDG new initiatives and Rs. 4,000 lakhs for new and innovative ideas that have transformative impact potential.

In the sectoral allocation, Rio informed that the Tourism sector has been provided Rs. 1,150.50 lakhs for activities like Hornbill Festival, construction and renovation of offices and quarters, construction of cottages, tourism development and core activities during 2024-25. The Economics and Statistics sector has been allocated Rs. 370 lakhs for construction, repair and renovation works, and for core activities of printing of statistical data, National Sample Survey, registration of births and deaths and online collection of data.

The Food and Civil Supplies sector has been provided Rs. 330.93 lakhs for construction of offices and godowns. The department has achieved 96.27 percent Aadhaar seeding status as on January 9, 2023 for the NFSA Ration Cards. The Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection sector has been provided Rs. 170 lakhs for core activities such as consumer awareness, printing of brochures, pamphlets and publications, conduct of seminars and workshops and consumer education in educational institutions. The Evaluation sector has been provided Rs. 300 lakhs for construction activities like approach roads, staff quarters, gallery and security fencing, informed Rio.
