Nagaland cabinet announces constitution of 7-member job quota commission

The state cabinet on Wednesday approved the constitution of a seven-member Nagaland Job Reservation Commission to be headed by a person “with integrity and administrative experience”- a retired senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Nagaland cadre.

According to an official bulletin, the composition of the commission will include the following: one member each to be nominated by the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO), Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) and Tenyimi Union Nagaland (TUN); three official members– Administrative Head of P and AR Department, Home Commissioner, and Administrative Head of Law and Justice Department.

The respective tribal apex bodies – ENPO, CNTC, and TUN – have been requested to nominate credible and qualified individuals to represent their respective communities as members of the commission. The nominations are to be communicated to the Government at the earliest for necessary action.
