Chief Electoral Officer, V. Shashank Shekhar, IAS, Home Commissioner, Abhijit Sinha, IAS, and DGP Rupin Sharma, IPS, had a review meeting with representatives from political parties and civil societies convened by Deputy Commissioner & DEO Mokokchung at DC Conference Room on 25 February 2023.
CEO, Nagaland along with the state officials visited the district to discuss & review the ground situations regarding the poll-related violence which has come to the notice of the Election Commission.
CEO while interacting with the political party representatives asked them to report any anomalies about the Modal Code of Conduct by any Candidates/Party, so that action can be taken by the concerned authority. He warned that even after the polling is over if the conduct of electoral malpractices has been found against any candidate, action would be taken as per the law.

Adding to this, Home Commissioner said webcasting recordings will be reviewed to ascertain anomalies carried out by any candidate. DGP, Nagaland urged the party representative to create awareness among the electorate to avert creating the situation that may lead to violence.
He also assured that more security personnel will be stationed in all the sensitive polling stations.
CEO & State Officials while interacting with the civil society representative from Ao Senden, Watsu Mungdang and AKM called for their joint effort to reach out to the community members to be sensitized to avoid any situation that may lead to violence.

President, Ao Senden, and Watsu Mungdang expressed their grief about the poll-related violence in some areas of the district but assured that more concrete afford will be put in from their end with close coordination with the district election machinery so that further poll-related violence can be avoided.
DC & DEO maintained that necessary and adequate measures are taken to avoid any poll-related violence in the district and with proper coordination with the civil societies and political party functionaries, the polling process can be conducted in a free and fair manner.
The team was also accompanied by Hiazu Meru, Joint Secretary & OSD to CEO, Sharon Longchari, Joint CEO and Manoj Kumar, SP Mokokchung.
