An e-commerce platform ‘Naga Bazaar’ was formally launched by Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio in the presence of Commissioner & Secretary, Cooperation and IPR, Orenthung Lotha and other dignitaries during the 77th Republic Day celebrations at the Civil Secretariat Plaza, Kohima on January 26.
The Nagaland State Co-operative Marketing & Consumers’ Federation Ltd. (MARCOFED) formally launched its e-commerce portal www.nagabazaar.com, a hyper-local quick delivery platform aimed at strengthening Nagaland’s local economy through digital innovation and cooperative participation.
The platform is designed to deliver everyday essentials and groceries with speed and reliability. Powered by MARCOFED’s extensive cooperative network, the platform connects primary cooperative societies, local producers, farmers, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), artisans and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) directly with consumers across the state.

MARCOFED envisions Naga Bazaar as a scalable digital marketplace that promotes inclusive growth, ensures fair pricing and strengthens supply chains. By leveraging technology to bridge gaps in traditional retail systems, the platform will champion homegrown products and enhance market access for local stakeholders.
The launch of Naga Bazaar on Republic Day symbolises the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat, reflecting national progress through cooperative-led e-commerce and positioning Nagaland towards a more connected, self-reliant and digitally empowered future.
