Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio accompanied by his entire cabinet, Nagaland Speaker Sharingain Longkumer and two members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha held a closed-door meeting with Interlocutor AK Mishra today in New Delhi to deliberate on the proposed Frontier Naga Territory (FNT) of the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation.
Sources privy to the meeting informed that during the meet CM Rio and his council of Ministers and MPs raised their concerns of not being consulted with the State government on this proposed FNT.
Interlocutor Mishra have assured Rio and his cabinets that before any final decision the Nagaland government will be consulted.

The scheduled meeting between the state government and Union Home Minister had to be deferred due to unavoidable circumstances and is likely to be rescheduled for tomorrow.
Rio and his council of Ministers during their meeting with Home Minister Shah will be seeking more clarity on the proposed FNT and Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
Meanwhile, the ENPO in it’s joint coordination meeting held today at Dimapur with the Eastern Sumi Hoho (ESH) have extended their invitation to include them in the proposed FNT.
