Nagaland election: Bigger responsibility to Noklak candidate, assures NEDA convenor Himanta at Pachesou

Noklak: The star campaigner also reiterated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the leader in Delhi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is the leader in Nagaland

North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convenor and Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that bigger responsibility awaits H. Haiying, the BJP Candidate of 56 Noklak Assembly Constituency.

The BJP leader attended the BJP-NDPP joint campaign at Pachesou, Noklak Village. Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Nalin Kohli, National Spokesperson BJP and the state in-charge were also present at the programme held in the remotest district of Nagaland.

Sarma said that Haiying was an important leader and that if elected by his constituents, bigger role will be given to him in the cabinet.

The star campaigner also reiterated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the leader in Delhi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is the leader in Nagaland.

He said that that the NDPP-BJP alliance is running a strong government and that the Naga political issue will be solved by respecting the unique history of Nagas.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio while addressing the gathering recalled the words of the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who said “Naga history is unique and recognised”.

He also mentioned that the Government of India has concern for the ENPO areas and the state government fully supports it. Rio said that while doing the seat sharing in 2018, he urged that the BJP ticket to be given to H. Haiying adding that he believed in his good leadership.

National Spokesperson of BJP, Nalin Kohli while lauding H. Haiying as a refined and good human being, said he is the candidate of both NDPP and BJP which is strong and united.

He asserted that the alliance wants development in every part of Nagaland and appealed the people to make this possible by strengthening the hands of Rio with the victory of every candidate.

“In Nagaland, no other political party is contesting more than 30 seats”, Kohli added while mentioning that the alliance has one candidate in every constituency.
