The need of participating in the AIFSM has been felt for a long time but could not succeed due to certain constraints. It’s a matter of pride for our state that with the active initiative of the PCCF and HoFF Nagaland, the long desire of the department to participate and showcase our latent potential has become a reality, it stated.
Efforts should be on to continue the journey more vigorously with the rest of the country as Nagaland is the only state that has been missing out, it added.
The main aim of AIFSM is to promote games and sports activities, and inculcate team spirit and camaraderie among officers and staff of the Forest department/organisations/institutions of the states, Union Territories and the Central government.
About 2400 Forest service personnel from all over the country are participating in the five-day meet, which features a wide range of athletic competitions including track and field events, archery, rifle shooting and other conventional games and sports.
