Nagaland Government revises ILP fees; new categories added

The Government of Nagaland has revised the fees for the issuance of Inner Line Permits for entry into the State by non-indigenous persons. The Home Department, Political Branch has also notified that the offline issuance of the ILP will be discontinued with effect from 31st December 2024 and that the system of issuing ILP in online mode will be introduced immediately wherever feasible.

As decided by the Cabinet on 11th September 2024, new categories with longer period of validity have been added.

– Technical personnel/consultants can now avail ILP for 2 years for ₹1500 which is renewable after its expiry for ₹500

– For priests and teachers, the fee for 3 years permit is ₹1500 which is renewable for ₹500.

– Students can get permit for up to five years stay for ₹300

– Business partners can get ILP for 3 years for ₹5000 which can be renewed further for ₹3000

Further, the Home Department, Nagaland has notified that those ILP Applicants coming from the State of Assam from the districts of Karimganj, Hailikandi, Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong will be required to produce National Register of Citizens (NRC) in addition to the documents cited above.
