Nagaland Governor La Ganesan visits Tseminyu district

Kohima: Expressing his happiness on visiting Tseminyu, one of the newest districts in Nagaland, the governor stated that in a new district, people have lots of aspirations and hopes reposed on the various government departments in the district.

Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, on Tuesday visited Tseminyu district and held meetings with department officers and civil societies at DC conference hall, Tseminyu.

Expressing his happiness on visiting Tseminyu, one of the newest districts in Nagaland, the governor stated that in a new district, people have lots of aspirations and hopes reposed on the various government departments in the district and called upon all to be sincere and dedicated to give their best service to the people, a DIPR report stated.

Stating that there is still a long way to go before catching up with other states in the country, the governor said that the people of Nagaland should also enjoy the fruits of development like the rest of the country.

He further said that it is the duty of every government agency and the departments to work hard and ensure that every citizen of the country enjoys the fruit of development.

The governor called upon the district administration to ensure that the flagship programmes of the central government are diligently and earnestly implemented for the welfare of the people.

Centrally sponsored schemes like the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Poshan Ahhiyan, Ayushman Bharat, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan & Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna (PMUY), PM Kisan to name a few are all implemented by the Central government for the welfare of the poor and the needy, he said and added that development should not be reflected only on paper, it stated.

He also requested the deputy commissioner of the district to have periodic reviews of the various schemes and programmes and take necessary action to meet the goals and targets if there are any shortfalls.

The governor further interacted with civil societies, Rengma hoho, Rengma women Association and Rengma Selo Zi.

Memorandums were submitted to the governor, which he assured to look into while requesting the public to cooperate with the government for development.

Visit to Chunlikha village

The governor also visited Chunlikha village, where the Kithagha Public Organisation President, Khinyi Woch submitted a memorandum to the governor with a request to intervene in the creation of an EAC HQ, upgradation of GHS Chunlikha to GHSS and the upgradation of health care facility among others.

Another memorandum was also submitted with a request to take up various activities for development in the area.

The governor expressed happiness about the maintenance of cleanliness, water supply, health care sector and said that participation of women is the most important to bring change in society, it added.

DC Tseminyu, Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi expressed gratitude for the visit of the village.
