Nagaland govt convenes consultative meeting on ULBs on 1st September

The Government of Nagaland is convening a consultative meeting on 1 September 2023 (Friday) at 11:00 am with all tribal bodies and civil society organisations to deliberate on matters pertaining to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the State, a DIPR report has informed. The meeting will be held in the State Banquet Hall, Chief Minister’s Residential Complex, Kohima.

The Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Ministers, the Speaker, NLA, all the Ministers, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, all the Advisors, all the MLAs along with the Advocate General, Nagaland, and the Chief Secretary along with other Senior Officials of the State Government will be present in the meeting, it was informed.

Besides the ULBs, there will also be briefing on matters in regard to Uniform Civil Code (UCC), and Forest Conservation (Amendment) Act, 2023, the report also said.

A consultative meeting was earlier conducted on 9 May 2023 where the ULBs, oil and gas exploration and production, Registration of Indigenous inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN) and the Nagaland Village and Tribal Councils Act, 1978 were discussed.
