Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kenye expressed his satisfaction to M/s Hutah Industries for taking up such initiatives while also stressing on the need to develop power generation in Nagaland to meet the power demand as well as promote industrial activities. He further impressed on the need for internal power generation so as to reduce import from outside. The minister also advised that since the project is bamboo fired, necessary tie up with Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency (NBDA) can also be explored. Such initiatives would also stimulate local employment, Kenye added.

Aditya Pandit, CEO & CFO, M/s Hutah Industries gave a brief highlight of the project. He said that the power plant will be a bamboo fired plant, the raw material for which shall be grown within the project area itself and for which 1500 acre of land has already been leased by the firm for 25 ears. He also informed that the project will be completed within 24 months from the date of signing of the PPA. Pandit further stated that the project is a collective commitment to harness renewable energy and shape a more sustainable future for the State of Nagaland.

Aier, the Engineer-in-Chief in his brief address stated that several PPAs were earlier signed by the Power Department but unfortunately the IPPs were not showing progress in the field. He expressed that the present PPA with M/s Hutah Industries should be a trend setter for a new beginning of successful project.
