The National Legal Services Authority in association with the Mediation & Conciliation Project Committee, Supreme Court of India has conceptualized the Special Mediation Drive- ‘Mediation for the Nation’ under the guidance of the Chief Justice of India and Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India & Executive Chairman, NALSA and Chairman, MCPC.
The ‘Mediation for the Nation’ Campaign is being launched across the nation. It is a 90 days intensive drive to settle pending cases in all the Taluk Courts, District Courts and High Courts of India through Mediation.
The Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) as per the direction of the National Legal Services Authority has informed all the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) in the State to conduct 90 days mediation drive to settle pending cases in all the DLSAs in view of the National Campaign ‘Mediation for the Nation’ starting from July 1.
The different category of cases which can be referred for mediation during this campaign are Matrimonial Disputes Cases, Accident Claims Cases, Domestic Violence Cases, Cheque Bounce Cases, Commercial Disputes Cases, Services Matter Cases, Criminal Compoundable Cases, Consumer Disputes Cases, Partition Cases, Eviction Cases, Land Acquisition Cases and Other Suitable Civil Cases.
Under this Campaign, the District Legal Services Authority has referred a total number 450 cases for Mediation out of which 12 cases have already been settled through Mediation.

In view of this 90 days National Campaign, ‘Mediation for the Nation’, all the advocates, litigants and general public are requested to take advantage of this said campaign and refer their cases (if it falls under the above mentioned category), for mediation.
