Nagaland MPs express sadness over demise of former minister N H Zhetovi Yepthomi

Kohima: Former MP Tokheho Yepthomi describes Late Zhetovi Sema as “stalwart in Naga polity”

S Supongmeren Jamir, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and S Phangnon, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) have expressed sadness at the demise of N H Zhetovi Yepthomi, former minister and member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 1969-1974. Yepthomi passed away in Dimapur on 10th July 2024.

In a condolence message, Jamir stated that the former minister’s “untold sacrifices rendered in the service of the people would be difficult to emulate and would be cherished for ages by his constituents and the people of Nagaland in general.”

S Phangnon Konyak, in a post on X, mentioned that the former minister, who was also a former member of Tuensang Regional Council, “was a stand out leader who made a lasting impression on the Naga people and in particular among the people of Eastern Nagaland. We have lost a tall leader who leaves behind a huge void.”

Both MPs further extended his sympathies to the bereaved family of Late Zhetovi Sema.

Meanwhile, former MP (Lok Sabha) Tokheho Yepthomi, too condoled his passing. In a post on X, Yepthomi described Late Zhetovi Sema as a “stalwart in Naga polity. A human being of deep humility, honour and integrity. A people’s person who served Nagaland and Nagas throughout his life.”
