Making history in Nagaland, 12-year-old Kinayala Aier, won a bronze medal during the ongoing 5th National Cadet Kyorugi and Poomsae Taekwondo Championship, being held in Kota, Rajasthan from 28 to 31st March.
Marking a first in the history of Nagaland Taekwondo Association (NTA), affiliated to TFI and Nagaland Olympic Association, Aier, daughter of Toshi Ao and Vivi Shohe and a Class 7 student of Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur won a bronze medal in the Poomsae event.
Under NTA, Aier is the first girl to represent Nagaland in the Poomsae event and win a medal.
The other medallists from Nagaland include, Manong Konyak (under 41 kg) bronze medal, Thongti (under 45 kg) bronze medal and Lhongkan (under 57 kg) bronze medal, all boys.
The players representing Nagaland are, cadet boys’ team –Lensethong (under 37 kg), Manong (under 41 kg), Thingti (under 45 kg), Manhei Konyak (under 49 kg), Lhuvosayi Vasa (under 53 kg) and Lhongkan (under 57 kg), while the cadet girl is Kinayala Aier (under 49 kg) including Coach Anirudra and Team Manager, Limatula.
