Nagaland: NCP to support NDPP-BJP government; Er. Picto Shohe elected Leader of the NCP Legislature Party

Kohima: Er. Picto Shohe has been elected as the leader of the NCPLP, while P Longon has been elected as the deputy leader.

With the approval of Sharad Pawar, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) National President, the state unit of the party has resolved to support the alliance government of the NDPP-BJP under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio in the larger interest of the state.

The decision to support the government was arrived at during the first meeting of the NCP Legislature Party (NCPLP) on 4 March in Kohima.

Meanwhile, Er. Picto Shohe has been elected as the leader of the NCPLP, while P Longon has been elected as the deputy leader, Namri Nchang as the chief whip, Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe as the whip and S Toiho Yeptho as the spokesperson, a press release on 8 March informed.

Mention may be made that NCP contested 12 seats in the recently concluded Nagaland Assembly Election 2023 and secured 7 seats.
