Nagaland Police seizes drugs worth Rs 16 crore; Y Patton says crackdown is a clear message to drug traffickers, peddlers

Deputy Chief Minister and in-charge of Home and Border Affairs, Yanthungo Patton has acknowledged the Nagaland Police personnel, led by Director General of Police, Rupin Sharma, IPS, for making massive drug seizures recently. In a series of posts on X, Patton informed on Friday that the total value of the drugs haul is Rs 16 crore.

While appreciating the State Police Force for the relentless efforts in the “War Against Drugs”, the Deputy CM stated that the recent seizures of drugs is a “major victory” in the battle against the menace of narcotics.

Patton said that this “crackdown is a continuation of numerous other successful operations where kingpins have been arrested and huge drug hauls have been seized” and saluted the dedicated officers who put their lives on the line on daily basis to keep the citizens safe. Our police force has sent a clear message that Nagaland will not be a safe haven for drug traffickers and peddlers, he added.

Further, the Deputy CM has urged all citizens “to stand united” with the Nagaland Police on this “War Against Drugs” and share any information that would aid the investigations.
