The Nagaland Police have given an update on seizures made across the state in their efforts to maintain to law and order as the state prepares for the upcoming General Elections.
A DIPR report informed that the Nagaland Police has issued a press release stating that since the announcement of the Schedule of General Elections to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2023 by the Election Commission of India dated 18.01.2023, the department has been conducting raids, searches and seizures all across the State in order to ensure free and fair elections by maintaining law and order.
The press release stated that this week alone, the Police Department have seized a grand total seizure amount of Rs 18,49,73,650.
• IMFL – Rs 21, 25,725
• Narcotics – Rs 3,43,53,025
• Other contraband – Rs 14,84,14,000
• Arms and Ammunition – Rs 50,900
• Other seizures – Rs 30,000
The Department has also sought for public cooperation and support during this period for implementation of the Model Code of Conduct.
