Jacob Zhimomi, PHED Minister and BJP Candidate from 4 Ghaspani-1, filed his nomination for the Nagaland State Assembly election 2023 at DC Office in Chümoukedima on Saturday.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Nalin Kohli, National Spokesperson and Prabhari of Nagaland were present at the occasion.
Talking to the press, Sarma said that NDPP and BJP will “unitedly fight and win the election hands down.”

Born on 18 June 1981, Zhimomi is an alumnus of St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. He contested and won his first election as an Independent candidate from 4-Ghaspani- 1 A/C under Dimapur district in the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (2013-2018).
During this tenure Jacob served as Chairman, Development Authority of Nagaland (DAN), Government of Nagaland, as a Parliamentary Secretary, Justice & Law, Parliamentary Secretary of Irrigation and Flood Control and later as Advisor (Cabinet Minister rank) to Public Health Engineering Department (PHED).
In 2018, He contested in the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly with ticket from BJP party and is currently holding the portfolio of Minister, Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Government of Nagaland in the cabinet.
