The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party unit of 43rd Tapi Assembly Constituency on Saturday alleged “blatant violation of alliance principle” by Bharatiya Janata Party unit of the constituency.
In a letter to the Nagaland state president of BJP, Temjen Imna Along, the NDPP 43rd Tapi A/C stated that the BJP unit of the constituency, “in complete deviation of the directives of the BJP party higher authorities”, had on 11 February 2023 declared to support the National People’s Party (NPP) candidate A. Epha Konyak and not NDPP candidate Noke Wangnao.
“The state BJP failed to initiate any action on this despite appraising the same to the party authority,” the letter said.

The NDPP unit also accused the BJP unit of jointly organising a campaign rally for the NPP candidate today at Shangnu village in Mon district and appealed for “immediate justification and clarification on implicit understanding and alliance that exist between BJP & NPP.”
It also requested the state BJP authority to take “immediate call for necessary action to safeguard the spirit of alliance”.
