Naga People’s Front’s candidate for 6th Tening Assembly Constituency, Henry Zeliang has begun his election campaign for the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election which is scheduled to be held on 27 February 2023.
Zeliang has visited three villages around Tening circle – Ntu, Tepun and Nzau – as of Saturday and plans to cover all the villages under 6th Tening A/C.

In his addresses to the people of the villages, the NPF candidate requested for votes assuring them that he will bring development to the area. Zeliang made promises on more efficient water supply, better road connectivity, youth empowerment and improved medical facilities for the people of Tening circle.
He also assured that he will give his best to create a sustainable society where people can become economically self-reliant by tapping on the resources available in the area.
Henry Zeliang, who retired from Department of Agriculture as Additional Director, had earlier told Nagaland Tribune that he is joining politics because it is not possible to improve the plight of the people and bring development to the area without being involved in politics.

He will be contesting against 5 candidates at 6th Tening A/C: Rosy Thomson from Indian National Congress (INC), Namri Nchang from Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Dr. Tumda Newme, Independent candidate, Zandi Domta from National People’s Party (NPP) and Tarie Zeliang from Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP).
