Nagaland receives award in Aspiring State category

Nagaland secured a prestigious award in the Aspiring State category on the occasion of National Startup Day in New Delhi on January 16. The state received the award during the announcement of the results and the felicitation ceremony for the National Startup Awards 2023 and the 4th edition of the state’s startup ranking framework. These are integral components of the Startup India initiative organized by the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Kekhrievor Kevichüsa, the Commissioner and Secretary of Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland, was recognized for his pivotal role in establishing the first incubation center for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and for supporting incubators in the robotics sector during the ceremony.

Keneirienuo K Theünuo, Deputy director of Industries and Commerce and leader of the State Startup team, received recognition for her efforts in supporting incubators with programs tailored for women startups and providing seed funding to incubation centers.

Advisor of Industries and Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, commended their accomplishments on X expressing pride in the department and its officers for their dedication to nurturing the startup ecosystem for youth. The advisor posted, “Extremely proud of our dept @industries_naga and our officers for striving hard to build up the startup ecosystem for our youth. Congratulations on securing honor under ‘Aspiring State’ as well. Thank you Hon’ble CM @Neiphiu_Rio for pushing us to excel.”
