The Nagaland State Health Agency received four National Awards from the National Health Authority on September 26 at Arogya Manthan 2023 held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
Under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the State Health Agency Nagaland was awarded for Prompt Anti-fraud Action (September 2022-August 2023) and Full utilization of allocated funds (September 2022-August 2023). Nagaland was also awarded the Ayushman Utkrishtata Award for Best Claim Settlement Performance under Small State category (October 2022 to September 2023).

In a post on X, the Nagaland Health and Family Welfare informed that Thavaseelan K, IAS, CEO, Nagaland Health Protection Society with team Nagaland received the four National awards from National Health Authority during the Arogya Manthan 2023. The Nagaland Team received the Awards from Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare.
Celebrating five years of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) and two years of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), the National Health Authority (NHA), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) organised the Arogya Manthan 2023 from 25-26 September at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The event marked insightful discussions and deliberations on challenges, trends, and best practices related to the two schemes which aims to provide accessible, available, affordable and scalable healthcare to achieve the vision of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in India. A plenary session on ‘Universal Health Coverage, Convergence and Digital Health’, besides various other sessions related to implementation of the two flagship schemes were also held.
The Arogya Manthan was graced by Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers, Government of India, Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, Minister of State (Health and FW), Dr V.K. Paul, Member (Health), Niti Aayog, Sudhansh Pant, Secretary (Health and FW) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) National Health Authority (NHA). The event also witnessed active participation of other dignitaries, including policymakers from States and Union Territories (UTs), national experts from the healthcare sector along with representatives from the academia, think-tanks, industry, and media.
With 5.5 Cr free hospitalizations worth Rs 69,000 Cr, the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme has not only ensured good health for crores of poor and downtrodden families but has also protected their families from catastrophic healthcare expenditure. ABDM, launched on the 27th September 2021, has created 45 Cr Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) and linked more than 30 Cr health records to these accounts.
During the event, the NHA felicitated the best performing States & UTs and health facilities.
