Students’ enrolment in government and private schools in Nagaland registered a slight decline in the last academic session while central schools registered a slight increase.
This data was shared during the 36th Executive Committee meeting of the Nagaland Education Mission Society (Samagra Shiksha Nagaland), held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, J Alam at Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall, Civil Secretariat, Kohima on 30 March.
The agenda on the audit report was discussed and review of the second instalment for elementary and secondary education was also updated to the house, a DIPR report informed.
The statistics of teachers in government schools of Nagaland in each section of the classes was also highlighted. Members further discussed the linking of Aadhaar to the student’s profile so that every anomaly can be detected.
Education profile teachers, both trained and untrained teachers, was also presented and discussed. Activities like distribution of uniforms and text books, media and community mobilisation, National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding (NIPUN) and Numeracy Bharat Programme, KALA UTSAV, Virtual reality lab and vocational education were also presented.
The proposal for the academic year were also presented and discussed, it informed.
