With the Nagaland state assembly election due in a few weeks and tickets issued by various political parties, several intending candidates held their candidature declaration programmes on Saturday.
In Khekiye village, Zunheboto, more than 3000 supporters came to bless the candidature declaration of G Ikuto Zhimomi, NDPP candidate.
Thanking all the rank and file of NDPP central and 34 Aghunato Assembly Constituency (AC) for their support and trusting his leadership, Zhimomi stated that his vision for the constituency is unity, innovation and transformation.

Mantra of BJP is peace and development
Meanwhile, the candidature declaration-cum-prayer meeting for BJP Candidate from 33 Suruhuto AC, H Khehovi was held at old public ground in Suruhuto.
In his address to thousands of supporters, the BJP candidate expressed his gratitude to the BJP central and state leaders for reposing faith in him by awarding the prized BJP ticket to him.
Khehovi reaffirmed his commitment to work towards the upliftment and development of Suruhuto-Asuto area and appealed to the electorates to cast their votes in his favour again.

Stating that the mantra of the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was for peace and development, Khehovi said that there have been visible changes during the BJP rule which has uplifted the socio-economic status of the common man.
The BJP candidate cited certain flagship programmes like Jal Jeevan Mission, Prime Minister’s Awaz Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojna, Janani Suraksha Yojana which have benefitted the rural sections of people across the country including the people of the constituency.
The BJP candidate, who is seeking a second term under the BJP ticket, said that the first battle for ticket approval has been won and the next battle will be decided through the verdict of the electorates of Suruhuto-Asuto area.

Short speeches were also delivered by Hekhushe Shikhu, former president Sumi Hoho; former candidates from the constituency Pukhato Achumi, Vihoshe Awomi and Holuto Aye; Khetoni, Mahila president and Tokishe Achumi, President Highway Area GB Association, Dimapur.
In Wokha district, a short ticket ceremony programme of candidate Mhathung Yanthan 39 Sanis A/C was at Lakhuti village playground.
Yanthan stated that Sanis block was the heart of Wokha district which needs major development and that it cannot be achieved within five years. He highlighted his plans for numerous projects, development activities and sought support from all the villages under 39 Sanis AC.
