Nagaland team secures 11 medals at 12th National Pencak Silat Championship

The Nagaland Pencak Silat Team won two Gold, four Silver and three Bronze medal in the 12th Senior National Pencak Silat Championship 2024 held at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha from June 10-13.

According to the Nagaland Pencak Silat Association (NPSA), the medal winners in Tanding (Fight) are:

Hatneinem Khongsai – Gold

Kevin – Silver

Niya K. Thono- Silver

Hinokali – Silver

Jon -Bronze

Avikali V. Shequi- Bronze

Kitenlo K. Thono- Bronze

In Artistic event: Creative Solo Male (Silver) – Kevin Regu

Female: (Gold)

All together 28 states and 6 Union Territories with a total of 984 players including 40 players from All India Police, CISF, SSB and Assam Rifles participated in the mega national Pencak Silat Championship, informed the NPSA.

Jammu & Kashmir triumphed as the overall champions in both men’s and women’s categories, with a total of eight gold, four silver and six bronze. The Odisha team secured the first the runners-up with four gold, two silver and eight bronze, followed by Uttarakhand securing the third position.
