Nagaland will be participating in the Miss Universe India pageant for the first time, informed the Beauty and Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (BASN) during a press conference at Symphony Café ,Kohima today.
Miss Universe Nagaland India will be officially launched during the audition on July 2 at Niathu Resort, Chümoukedima. The audition is open to girls above 18 years of, including previous pageant winners.
The official partners for the Miss Universe India Nagaland are Niathu Resort, Sky Garden, Runway India and Alemtemshi Jamir, Former Chief Secretary of Nagaland.
To announce its expansion strategy and discover talents across the nation through a state wise format, Miss Universe India is appointing State Directors from all States of India by associating with State Pageants who can directly conduct Pageants in their respective State under the banner of Miss Universe India, informed Sarah Konyak, Media and Information Secretary, BASN. For the state of Nagaland, BASN President Mele Pucho has been appointed as the State director.
The press conference also updated on the Glamanand Entertainment Pvt. Ltd which recently acquired the franchise for the Miss Universe competition in the country. Glamanand was founded in 2015 by Nikhil Anand, Chairman Glamanand Group with its HQ in New Delhi.
“Glamannd believes that this initiative will allow Pageant aspirants to secure a place at the National Finale of Miss Universe India and also represent their respective State in front of not just India but entire world as Miss Universe is the highest followed Pageant across the world with over 6.1 Million followers on Instagram,” said Konyak.
The reason Miss Universe India team decided to switch to State Pageant format by bringing the state Pageant to your doorstep, according to BASN, was because over the last few years many aspiring candidates who wished to participate and give auditions are unable to do so because of financial issues or are not allowed to travel beyond their state.
The BASN also highlighted the requirements and details for the audition:
- Outfit requirements for audition:
Shorts & black vest
Body hugging black cocktail dress
Pencil heels/stilettos (3 inches and above)
Light Make-up
No glasses/lens, Padded lingerie Jewelry.
- No age bar, 18 years and above can participate.
- Participants should be an indigenous citizen of Nagaland.
The registration fee for the audition is Rs.1000, where spot registration can be conducted from 9:30 am to 10:30am.
