Thepfulhoutuo Shüya declared his candidature for the upcoming ULB Elections in a program held in Chümoukedima on May 26. Shüya will be contesting from Ward.6,Chümoukedima.

In his candidature speech, Shüya mentioned that Ward 6 is an epicentre of Chümoukedima district and assured to bring development. Shüya also maintained that he will ensure better drainage system, electricity and road system, play a major role In solving multiple taxation problem, provide solution to the business communities and also to check the problem faced by the people with ration cards. In the issue of water crisis, Shüya hoped to provide better water services with equality.

“If given an opportunity to win, I will stay in office from 8 am to 4 pm and make sure to meet the public at all times and meet their needs,” said Shüya who also appealed for a free and fair election. With more than 33 years experience in politics, Shüya expressed that his fight his different, ensuring that every public voice is heard and every household is touched under his ward.

Elders in the colony also spoke during the event and expressed solidarity to Shüya. Speaking on behalf of the youth, Sentilong Longkumer expressed support stating acknowledging Shüya’s vision for younger generation and providing good governance in solving the employment gap.
