Nagaland University conducts Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme at Sazolie College

Kohima: Initiative aimed at youth aged 18-40 with innovative business ideas or businesses running for up to five years

After the success at Mount Olive College, Kohima, the Entrepreneurship Development Centre of Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema, organized another Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) at Sazolie College, Jotsoma, Kohima District today. This initiative falls under the project “Establish, Develop and Manage Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) and Incubation Centre (IC) in Educational Institutes of the North Eastern Region.”

The event was chaired by Yashijungla while Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Gopal Chetri, Principal of Sazolie College. Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bordoloi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Management and Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) at Nagaland University, delivered the Introductory Speech and Jonna Mozhui, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Sazolie College, provided the Exhortation. The Technical Session was led by Prof. Kh. Devananda Singh, Head of the Department of Management at Nagaland University. The programme included a Business Session following the lunch break.

This initiative is aimed at youth aged 18 to 40 residing or studying in Kohima district with innovative business ideas or businesses running for up to five years. During the programme, 10 participants will be selected for a 5-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) at Nagaland University, Kohima Campus. Those chosen will have the chance to advance their ventures with a start-up grant of Rs. 5 lakh from the Incubation Centre, designed to help transform business plans into successful enterprises.

Sponsored and managed by the North Eastern Council (NEC) and the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, the project does not require any registration fees from participants.

Another session of the Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme will be held on 30th August 2024, at St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama. Dr. Ditalak Mpanme, Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at Nagaland University, serves as the Joint Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP).
