Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, witnessed a grandiose celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8 at the university campus, where students and faculty from all departments came together, clad in their traditional attires for the first time to join in the celebration, informed a press release.
Keynote Speaker Prof. Rosemary Dzuvichu, Dept. of English, NU, Guest of Honour Prof. Glenn T. Thong PVC, NU, Kohima Campus and Prof.N.Venuh HoD, Dept of Hist & Archeology, amplified this year’s theme ‘Inspire Inclusion’ and the purpose of the gathering, through their speeches.

Chief Guest Nino Iralu District & Sessions Judge, Wokha, first Naga LL.M and First Lady Judicial magistrate graced the occasion. Nino Iralu in her speech emphasised that investing in women is not merely a social initiative but an investment in the very fabrics of our communities, economy and the future we collectively envision. She encouraged the gathering to invest in women’s education, which is the knowledge capital of our societies and will create positive ripple effects across generations.
The event was jointly organized by Women’s Studies Centre, NU and Dept. of Tenyidie, NU and NUSU, Kohima Campus. Narola Chuba Asst. Prof. Dept of Education, NU, chaired the program. Dr. Anu G.S Assoc. Prof. Dept of Education, NU, prayed for the gathering, and Prof. Buno Zetsuvi, Director, Women Studies Centre, NU, delivered the welcome address.
