The Department of Law, Nagaland University, in collaboration with the Consumer Advocacy Group, organized a National Webinar on “Consumer Awareness” on October 9. The event was graced by Prof MK Sinha, Senior Professor & VC In-charge. The welcome address was given by the Dr Kuldeep Singh Panwar, HoD, Department of Law, Nagaland University. Dr PVVS Murthy, founder of Consumer Advocacy Group highlighted the purpose of the seminar. The sessions were moderated by Dr. Sentikumla.
Resource person, Dr Rekha Singh of Sardar Patel University, Gujarat focused on issues faced by consumers, especially on the digital platform, and stated that the 2020 e-commerce rule was brought to address these issues. Prof Rajesh Jampala of Siddharth College of Arts & Science, Vijayawada discussed the consumer challenges in the new digital economy and advocated for a healthy, sustainable lifestyle, noting that recent e-commerce issues like dark patterns as major challenges.

Prof SC Roy of Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna spoke on adulteration of food, and medical malpractices. He emphasised the need for starting a mass awareness campaign on consumer rights and proposed the establishment of a ‘consumer watch’ initiative.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr Kuldeep Singh Panwar.
