MGM College witnessed a significant academic milestone on April 8 as an Inspection Team constituted by Nagaland University visited the institution to assess its academic, administrative, and infrastructural preparedness for the extension of provisional affiliation.
The visit marked an important step in the college’s pursuit of continued academic recognition and institutional growth. The Inspection Team comprised eminent academicians, Dr PK Deka, Professor & Dean, School of Social Sciences, Department of Commerce, who served as the Convener; Dr R Vasanthan, Associate Professor, Department of English and Dr. Anu GS, Associate Professor, Department of Education.
A formal welcome programme was conducted in the college auditorium, attended by all faculty members, staff, and students. The session was chaired by Dr Sangeeta Kumari from the Department of Education. The programme began with an invocation by Ahikai I Jhaka, Head of the Department of English, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the proceedings.
Principal, Dr RK Behera, delivered the welcome address, extending warm greetings to the distinguished members of the Inspection Team and highlighting the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.

The team members, in their addresses, appreciated the efforts of the college and shared valuable insights on academic standards and institutional development.
The programme concluded with a benediction by Administrator, Fr Giju George.
Following the formal session, the Inspection Team undertook a comprehensive visit to the college campus. They carefully examined the infrastructure and facilities, including the library, classrooms, IQAC room, sanitation facilities, administrative office, computer laboratory, and other essential amenities. The team also interacted with faculty members, staff, and the librarian to gain a deeper understanding of the institution’s functioning and academic environment.
The team also held meeting with the Principal, during which key academic, administrative, and developmental aspects of the college were discussed at length.
