Nagaland University Football Team will participate in the All India Inter-University Football (Men) AIU Tournament 2025-26, hosted by the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, from January 30 to February 9, 2026.

According to a press release issued by the University’s PRO, the team earned its spot by competing in the AIU North East Zone University Championship, held from January 5-11, 2026, at Royal Global University in Guwahati, Assam. It may be noted that the top four teams from each zone qualify for the All India Inter-University Football Tournament, and Nagaland University secured fourth position in the zonal event.

Top performers from this national tournament may advance to the Asian University Games and World University Games. The team is led by Coach Watimenba Longchar, along with Manager Mesanguto Meru (Assistant Director, Sports) and Dr. Harish Kumar Tiwari (Deputy Director, Sports) from Nagaland University.
