Nagaland has won its first match in Ranji Trophy 2024-2025 by beating Arunachal Pradesh by an innings and 290 runs at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima.
Earlier, Nagaland won the toss and elected to bat first. Jonathan Rongsen was awarded Player of the Match for his magnificent 225-run knock, his personal best in first-class cricket, and for taking 3 crucial wickets. Jonathan’s outstanding double century also adds to his record as the only Naga player to have two double hundreds in first-class cricket under his belt.
Hem Bahadur Chetri provided solid support with his unbeaten 58*, ensuring Nagaland reached an imposing total. Dib Borah impressed on his debut with a 4-wicket haul, adding to the team’s bowling dominance.
