The Nagaland women’s team bagged their second win at the 72nd Nationals North East Basketball Championship this morning here at Aizawl, Mizoram. The first match on the second day of the championship saw the team from Nagaland winning 55-8 against Tripura.
In a game that was clearly one-sided, the Nagaland team took the steering wheel from the first minute and dominated their opponent throughout.
Rüütuonuo Janice scored the highest with 21 points followed by Reena Rai’s 11 points.
Team Nagaland led the score throughout the match.
The Nagaland women’s team will be playing against Manipur next this evening at 5pm.
Their next win will confirm whether Nagaland will be playing with the top three contenders of the North East Zones – Assam, Mizoram and Meghalaya.
