Sangyusang S Pongener from Nagaland has been conferred with country’s highest civilian honours, the Padma Shri Award 2026 in the field of Arts. He has been awarded for his exceptional achievements and innovative contribution to the Ao Naga Folk Arts. The Award was announced on Sunday.

Pongener is among the 133 Padma Sri Awardees.
