Prime Minister designate Narendra Modi will be sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term on Sunday at 7:15 pm at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
In the recently concluded General Election to the 18th Lok Sabha, the BJP secured 240 seats to become the single largest Party. Its National Democratic Alliance partners, particularly the Telegu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh and Janata Dal (United) in Bihar, ensured the NDA government to be formed with 292 seats.
On Sunday morning, Modi visited the Rajghat to pay tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. “We are greatly inspired by his unwavering commitment to service and social welfare. His thoughts continue to guide us in building a better society,” Modi expressed on X after the visit.
The PM designate also visited Sadaiv Atal where he paid homage to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Later, he said that Vajpayee’s “visionary leadership and commitment to progress greatly benefitted our nation. His words and actions continue to inspire us in our pursuit of all round development. He remains a guiding light for us all.”
At the National War Memorial, Modi paid tributes to brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. “Their unwavering courage and selflessness inspire us to uphold the values they fought for. Their sacrifice also motivates us to build a stronger and prosperous India they dreamt of,” he stated.

The oath taking ceremony in the evening will be attended by leaders of India’s neighbourhood countries.
Meanwhile, it is reported that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will be attending the ceremony on behalf of the INDIA bloc.
