NASU 48th Biennal General Conference underway

The 48th Biennal General Conference of the Northern Angami Students Union (NASU) got underway on Friday, March 14,  in Chedema Village. Themed “Empowering students for a resilient future”, the conference is hosted by Chedema Students Union.

Speaking as the special guest of the inaugural session, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor for School Education, encouraged and appealed the gathering that, as a blessed region, the northern angami people should graciously share these blessing with the Nagas and let posterity remain grateful to the region.

He emphasized on the educational importance in one’s life, challenging the present generation to focus on education that will shape one’s life.

Narrating on how parents are sacrificing for their children’s education expenses, Dr. Yhome challenged the students to be sincere and take care of the government schools and help them grow. He stressed on the importance to love one’s village and  people, signalling the threat of abandoning rural areas. Dr. Yhome also informed on the benefits of CMHIS.

The inaugural session was chaired by Meteitoulie Talie, while and invocation prayer was pronounced by Mhalenei Anthony Keyho, Senior Catechist Holy Cross Church Chedema and Presidential address delivered by Atouzo Kerhüo, President NASU.

Khriesamhalie David Mere, President ASU and Keduo-u Zumu, President NAPO also shared greetings. Kenei Belho, Founder Kenbel Pencil Brand also shared his entrepreneurial thoughts while, Chiechama Students’ Union and Rüsoma Students’ Union presented a song.
