The team of twenty students from St Xavier’s College, Jalukie, Peren who are participating in the National Integration Tour organised by the Assam Rifles, visited the Directorate General of Assam Rifles in Shillong, Meghalaya where they had a special interaction with the Lt Gen PC Nair, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, PhD, Director General of Assam Rifles.
During their meeting, the DG shared valuable insights into the importance of such tours and emphasized the role of education and cultural exchange in bridging divides and fostering a sense of belonging among all citizens of the country.
The National Integration Tour that was flagged off on 13th February is part of Assam Rifles’ ongoing efforts to promote national unity and integration through educational initiatives and cultural exchanges.

During their stay in Shillong, the students were provided the opportunity to explore iconic landmarks such as Umiam Lake, Elephant Falls, Airforce Museum, Lady Hydari Park and the renowned Don Bosco Museum, where they gained insights into the history and culture of the North East, the Assam Rifles informed in a press release.
On 17th February, the students will continue on the National Integration Tour towards Guwahati and then to Kolkata.
