District Hospital, Tuensang observed National Newborn Week 2023 on November 16, 2023, under the theme “Nurturing Newborn Lives through Community Facility Engagement.”
The annual National Newborn Week is being observed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India from 15th through 21st November 2023 for raising awareness about the crucial role of newborn care in ensuring child survival and development. The Ministry said, in a statement, that the event reinforces the importance of newborn health as a key priority area and reiterates its commitment steered at the highest level.
The National Newborn Week 2023 event at DH Tuensang saw active participation from various healthcare professionals, including the Medical Officer and Nurses from District Hospital Tuensang, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCM), Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), and others.
The focus of the week-long event is to emphasize the crucial role of community engagement in ensuring the well-being of newborns. The exchange of knowledge and experiences between medical experts, healthcare workers, and community representatives is aimed to strengthen collaborative efforts in providing quality care for newborns, DIPR said.
