The National United Christian Forum (NUCF), a forum of Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI), National Council of Churches in India (NCCI) and Evangelical Fellowship of India (EFI), has jointly exhorted all eligible citizens of India, particularly all members of the Christian Community to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming Parliamentary Elections beginning from April 19 to June 1, 2024.

“As citizens of India, we urge everyone to reflect on the critical issues facing our communities and our nation during this important time. The voice of every voter holds immense value, and collectively, we have the power to shape the future direction of our society,” stated the Forum.

The NUCF reflected on the essence of elections which presented an opportunity for the people to elect representatives who will uphold the Constitutional principles of equality, justice, liberty, fraternity and prosperity for all citizens and the affirmation of plurality and secularism, regardless of caste, class, creed, ethnicity and gender.

“At this pivotal moment, we urge every eligible voter to exercise their right and responsibility to participate in the electoral process. Our vote is not just a symbol; it is a powerful tool for growth and good governance,” appealed the Forum.

“Let us engage in constructive dialogue and propose solutions that address the needs of our diverse populace. As citizens, let us approach this election with open minds and compassionate hearts. Let us listen to diverse perspectives, seek common ground, and work towards building a society that is inclusive and which uplifts all the members,” implored the Forum.
