The Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) organised a distribution of tools and equipment under the Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana (PMVDY) for Self Help Groups (SHGs) at a formal programme in Meluri Village Council Hall on June 24.
MLA and advisor for New and Renewable Energy and NSDMA, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe who was the special guest at the event, encouraged the beneficiaries to be more dedicated in their endeavour as beekeeping is an important avenue for sustainable livelihood. He urged the Van Dhan Vikas Kendra (VDVK) cluster members to live up to its name “RAPHALUO” by catching up with the times for progress and prosperity.
Chairman NBHM Obed Quinker advised the gathering to harness the value of forest produce for a sustainable livelihood.

Earlier, village council chairman Meluri, Tsirütho Pochury delivered the welcome speech while chairman of RAPHALUO VDVK, Riepetho Nyuwi chaired the programme.
The programme was attended by deputy commissioner (DC) Meluri K Mhathung Tsanglao, officials from NBHM, and VDVK members. Tools and equipment were distributed to around ten SHGs of RAPHALUO, VDVK cluster.
