NBSE, NSACS to conduct training on Adolescence Education Programme for teachers on 29th Oct

Kohima: 1 teacher from each registered schools must attend online meeting positively: NBSE

The Nagaland Board of School Education and the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) will be conducting a one-day online training programme under the Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) for teachers under Kohima, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon, Phek, Wokha, Zunheboto, Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Niuland, Noklak, Longleng, Peren, Tseminyu and Shamator districts on the 29th October 2024 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

The Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) is a joint initiative by Ministry of Education (MoE), Department of School Education & Literacy and National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Government of India.

In Nagaland, the NSACS have been conducting training programmes for teachers under AEP since 2010 with the objective to provide accurate age appropriate life skills based adolescence education in a sustained manner in schools and provide structured education to enhance knowledge and skills of adolescents to deal with challenges of life.

Some of the areas to be discussed under this training are as follows:

  1. HIV/AIDS and STI
  2. HIV & AIDS (P&C), Act 2017
  3. Growing up and Adolescence Reproductive Sexual Health

NBSE has urged all the Heads of Registered Institutions under all districts except Kiphire to take note of the importance of this training and depute 1 (One) teacher to attend the online meeting positively.

The attendance of teachers from all the registered schools is compulsory and will be monitored, the Board stated.
