Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio expressed his happiness that for the first time, 25 girl students from Nagaland will be participating in the Republic Day Parade 2024 at Kartavya Path, New Delhi.
The 25 NCC Junior Wing cadets of St Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Kohima, under the aegis of NCC Group Kohima, will be part of the NCC Brass Band who will represent the North Eastern Region. The girls are aged 13 to 15 years.
CM Rio, in a post on X (Formerly Twitter), wished the girls the best.

In this regard, the Group Commander, Kohima Gp, along with officials from Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland called on Chief Minister Rio and briefed him about the same.
Besides the girl cadets from St Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Kohima, the NCC Girls Brass Band will also include cadets from St. Francis de Sales Higher Secondary School, Guwahati
The Training Camp for the band who will be marching as part of the Marching Band for the Republic Day Parade 2024, commenced in early October 2023.
