NCP to field 8 candidates in Wokha Town Council elections; Dedicatory Prayer Ceremony held

Wokha: MLA Humtsoe accompanies candidates to Wokha DC’s office to file their nominations

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Wokha Region conducted a dedicatory prayer ceremony on Tuesday for its eight Urban Local Body (ULB) candidates for positions in the Wokha Town Council on June 11 at Y.M Humtsoe, MLA residence Likya Colony, Wokha.

During the event, MLA Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe 38th Assembly Constituency, addressed the party workers, urging them to unite as a family and support all the party’s candidates in the upcoming ULB election. He emphasized the importance of inclusivity, calling on individuals from all sections to participate without bias based on village or constituency affiliations.

Highlighting the essence of politics as people’s participation, he encouraged active participation in the forthcoming ULB election, urging constituents to exercise their rights with a clear vision and faith in God. The MLA pledged his full support to the candidates and emphasized the candidates’ primary responsibility to engage intensively.

Humtsoe stressed the importance of unity among the eight candidates, urging them to support one another and uphold the party’s principles for the district’s growth and development.

Following the ceremony, MLA Humtsoe accompanied the eight nominated candidates to the Wokha Deputy Commissioner’s office to file their nominations. Supporters and party leaders joined the rally to show solidarity during the nomination process.

The NCP Wokha region allocated party tickets to the following candidates –

N. Senkathung Tungoe for Ward No. 2

W. Myingthungo Kikon for Ward No. 3

Lily T Humtsoe for Ward No. 4

Nzanthung Lotha for Ward No. 5

Santsuthung Murry for Ward No. 6

Yanrenthung Humtsoe for Ward No. 9

Mhao Ngullie for Ward No. 11

T. Woshumo Ezung for Ward No. 15

The event was chaired by Thunglamo Lotha, working president of NCP, Wokha District. Y. Chumbenthung Murry, Assistant Pastor of Wokha Town Baptist Church, offered dedicatory prayers for the party tickets and candidates.

Jenibemo Odyuo, General Secretary of NCP, Wokha District, delivered the welcome address, while Yanrenthung Humtsoe spoke on behalf of the NCP candidates. S.E. Kikon, Advisor of NCP, Nagaland, and Nribemo Odyuo, President of NCP, Wokha District, also delivered brief speeches.
