MLA & Advisor for Transport and Technical Education, Temjenmenba along with the newly nominated officials of NDPP 29 Jangpetkong AC after the general consultative meet at Nokyu Salang, Mangkolemba on August 23, 2025.

The NDPP 29 Jangpetkong Assembly Constituency held a crucial general consultative meet at Mangkolemba where officials for tenure 2025-27 were nominated in the presence of MLA & Advisor for Transport & Technical Education, Temjenmenba and several key decisions were also adopted to strengthen the party at the grass-root level.

Speaking at the meeting, MLA Temjenmenba expressed gratitude to Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio and NDPP State President, Chingwang Konyak for allotting him the party ticket to contest the 2018 Assembly election and win the prestigious 29 Jangpetkong AC seat in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

He recalled that his election campaign started late, just four months before the election, and he was also quite new in the political field. However, with the wholehearted support of the Chief Minister and NDPP State President, the 29 Jangpetkong NDPP leaders, the general public and the grace of God, he could win the election with a significant majority, said Temjenmenba.

Nonetheless, he admitted that since he was new to politics, he was in the learning process for the past two years and he might have neglected the party workers while trying to focus on development in the constituency.

He asserted that, with the support and goodwill of Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio, he could bring development to almost all the units – except one which will be looked after next –through the LADP fund.

The MLA said that August 23 might be the most important day in the NDPP 29 Jangpetkong AC as it marked a new chapter where a new tenure starts and it marks the revamp and strengthening of the party. He highlighted the works of the Chief Minister and pointed out the recent visit to different countries and the recent signing of MoU with Japan to promote youth empowerment.

He also cited the activities of TaFMA (Task Force for Music and Arts) and focus on sports to promote to youth and said that the NDPP and State Government is fully focused on youth as they are the future of Nagaland.

About strengthening the party, he urged the NDPP 29 Jangpetkong AC officials to focus on the units at the village levels and strengthen them since the party units are the foot-soldiers of the party who ultimately elects the legislators. He also urged those party leaders who might be members or officials in different NGOs to differentiate the works of a political party leader and an NGO so that they might not hamper the working of the government but rather stand as a strong pillar supporting the different developmental programmes of the State government.

He acknowledged the different needs of the constituency especially in Mangkolemba headquarters like lack of doctors in hospital, absence of government officers, lack of good roads etc. He assured that all the issues were shared with the Chief Minister and other cabinet ministers and that the issues will be addressed within his term as MLA.

He said that it was not a time to remain lackadaisical but rather rejuvenated since the MLA & Advisor, Temjenmenba was working so hard in brining development to the Constituency and more are expected in the days to come.
