Tongpang Ozukum, NDPP candidate for 24th Angetyongpang A/C, travelled to Longkong and Chakpa villages in Mokokchung district on his first day of ‘declaration tour’ on Thursday.
He was accompanied by his wife, party workers of NDPP and Mokokchung District BJP officials and supporters as he began his election campaign.
In Longkong Village, Ozukum expressed his gratitude to the people for placing their trust in him in the last election and stated that the time has come to redefine the importance of 24th Angetyongpang A/C in the political map of Nagaland.
The candidate urged the people to lend him their support once again to accomplish bigger objectives for the constituency and Nagaland in general.

Later at Chakpa Village, Ozukum appealed to the people not to judge him for his three years stint in office as two precious years were spent on the pandemic.
Furthermore, he pleaded with the people for their support once more so that he can deliver on his promises.

Short speeches were also delivered by officials of NDPP, Mokokchung region, BJP, Mokokchung District and Vice President of central women organisation NDPP Nagaland, President Phagsang Area Telongjem, Mr. Nangshi, Village Council members of Chakpa Village and other dignitaries.
Village Council chairman, Longkong Medemsanger Putu Menden, Moyalepten in his welcome address said that the declaration programme is an opportunity for the constituents to voice their dissatisfaction directly to the intending candidate if at all there is any.
The VC chairman then added that they had no complaints to make, he said.
Additional speeches were also made by NDPP, Mokokchung region President, N Bendang Jamir, Vice President, BJP, Mokokchung District, P Lanutoshi.
