The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) central women organisation organised a “Women’s health and wellness” seminar under the theme “A perfect women makes the world beautiful” at the conference hall, NDPP head office Kohima on February 16.
Highlighting the neglect of health management issues in society, Former MLA Neikiesalie Nicky Kire emphasized on the need for women to have more decision-making opportunities. He also stressed the importance of women having a voice to address societal and state issues.

The significant role of women in societal growth was stressed where the importance of offering prenatal education and consistent support for women facing health challenges such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, and maternal issues was also highlighted. Dr. Kire also acknowledged the remarkable achievements of women across various fields and their impactful decision-making for a better and safer society.
Advocating for women’s rights in health choices, Dr. Kire urged men to show respect and promote equality in household responsibilities, decision-making, and encouraged increased awareness campaigns and seminars for women’s health. He also called for women to prioritize their health and strive towards building a better future.
