In a remarkable initiative blending spirituality, environmental consciousness, and youth engagement, the Youth Department of the Nepali Baptist Church Kohima successfully organized a trekking expedition and cleanliness drive at the scenic Puliebadze mountain.
The event, held under the theme of reflection, education, and action, saw enthusiastic participation from the youth members who embarked on the trek not merely as a physical activity, but as a spiritual journey. The primary objective of the expedition was to symbolically experience the immense struggle Jesus Christ endured as He carried the cross up to Golgotha. As participants ascended the challenging trails of Puliebadze, they reflected on the pain, sacrifice, and perseverance of Christ, gaining a deeper appreciation of His suffering and love.
In addition to its spiritual focus, the expedition also aimed to promote environmental awareness. Along the trek, the youth carried out a cleanliness drive, collecting litter and spreading awareness about the importance of maintaining the natural beauty of our surroundings. The initiative served as an educational experience not only for the participants but also for fellow trekkers and locals who witnessed the effort.

“Our goal was to connect with nature, reflect on the passion of Christ, and give back to the environment,” said one of the youth leaders. “It was a meaningful experience that helped us understand both the spiritual and social responsibilities we carry as Christians and as citizens.”
The successful completion of the event was marked with prayer and fellowship at the summit, where the youth expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to grow in faith and service. The Youth Department extends its sincere thanks to all who supported and participated in the expedition and hopes to continue such impactful programs in the future, informed a press release by the Department.
