The Nerhema Village Council has expressed outraged by the act of the NSCN K (Khango) issuing capital punishment against its native member Kezhaleo Rülho, Proprietor KKB Rülho.

“Death penalty is reserved specifically for treason and other heinous crimes against humanity The Khango group claiming itself as Naga Army which does not have the mandate of our people has issued death penalty due to less receipt of money as demanded. The act itself showcases the group’s motives,” stated the Council. It condemned the act as nothing but an act of dacoity and extortion and does not resembles the principles and sanctity of the National Movement

“The Council states publicly that Mr. Kezhaleo Rülho is one of our very own, a son of the soil. It is the tradition and bounden duty of our Village Council to protect its bonafide members and also safeguard its interest. The threat of death penalty by the Khango group and shadowy individual motives against our bonafide member is taken very seriously by the Nerhema Village Council. The Council declares that customary law shall be delivered firmly and swiftly to Khango group if any undesirable acts happen to Mr. Rülho, kith and kin or to any native members of Nerhema,” it asserted.

The Council also questioned the constant failure of the CFMG/CFSC to enforce ceasefire ground rules and “remained tactically dormant even though unwanted situations are flaring up under their very nose due to its inability to control the various groups and maintain the line of ceasefire rules”. “They need to wake up from their deep slumber and reign in the defaulter groups within the laid down rules,” stated the Council.

Affirming its solidarity to the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) directives, the Council directed its people “the abled-bodies of the native youths under the command of AYO till amicable settlement is achieved”.
